This project was for a couple who wanted to have raised planters for growing vegetables. They had a large unused area at the bottom of their garden hat they wanted to utilise. The area was first cleared and several large stumps removed, the area was then levelled and the beds constructed using sleepers. Once the beds were completed the area was membraned and gravelled. A reasonably simple project finished under budget and on time.

The project was a complete re-design of the back garden, the garden was overgrown and sloping. The client requested that they would like a large raised decked area, paths and the returfing of the garden but wanted ideas on how to improve the layout.I suggested terracing the garden to acheive a more desirable level and having a patio and seperate seating area at the bottom of the garden rather than all turf. A new fence was also erected at the bottom and side of the garden tp finish off the project.

The garden was cleared of all the existing paving and old lawn then was levelledĀ and the newly paved area dug out. A geo-textile membrane was applied to prevent soil migration then a sub-base was introduced and compacted. Paving was then laid on a bed of concreting sand and the remaining area turfed.

This project is a two-tiered deck designed to mask all the unattractive walling and paving. A new lawn was also laid and small retaining walls were constructed along with a new pergola and fencing.

At the start of this project, the site/garden was overgrown with weeds, bushes and trees and was very waterlogged due to compacted soil and water moving laterally from the neighbours garden which is on a lower elevation.

The aim of the project was to remove all unwanted shrus and trees and install an encatchment drain adjacent to the neighbouring property and two large Herringbone drainage systems covering to 200 linear meters.

Once this was complete the entire area was deeply rotorvated and 30 tonnes of sharp sand was incorporated into the soil profile to increase water filtration rates to the new systems.

Finally, the area was levelled off with 60 tonnes of graded topsoil and compacted accordingly followed by overseeding with a pre-germinated mix and a pre-seed fertiliser.
